I try to spend time researching purchases instead of impulsively making them, which helps me to be more conscious of what I really need, want and can afford. It also helps me make wise purchases because if I spend the time researching the item I can be more sure that the price I’m paying is what the item is worth.
For me it’s pretty easy, since I don’t have any money to spend I tend not to buy stuff. But if I did have money I would still (hopefully) feel the same way. That being said, buying stuff that you don’t need, that is not worth it’s price and that might be a waste of money, is necessary once in a while.
Matt bought me these roses on a whim one day. Though some would argue that flowers are a waste of money because they die (which I wouldn’t necessarily argue with) I still like them and like having them given to me. Ultimately, having flowers in my apartment helps me to focus because I can’t stop to smell the roses if I don’t have any to smell.
