Basic Soup Recipe: How to Make Soup Out of Almost Anything

Ever wanted to know how to make a basic soup recipe so you can use your garden harvest?

Learning to use in-season ingredients in meals can have a learning curve, but when you know how to make a basic soup, you’re all set.

Soup is the perfect food for using abundant garden produce or veggies you get at the farmer’s market or from a CSA. It’s easy to make and easy to adjust to fit your needs.

Benefits of Soup

Soup has many health benefits. It’s an easy way to pack a lot of vegetables into a meal. Most of us need to eat more veggies, so this is a great way to do that.

Soup also has gelatin and trace minerals (in the broth), which are important for a healthy body.

Soup is also inexpensive to make. When you’re trying to eat a healthy diet, it can get expensive! Soup is an inexpensive way to get nutrition in the diet while still filling the belly and offering comfort.

What Is a Basic Soup Recipe?

We all know that soup is amazing, but how exactly do you make a basic soup? Here are the general steps:

  • Decide which ingredients you want to use. Do you have tons fo cabbage, a bunch fo beets, or lots of spinach? What do you want to find a use for?
  • Divide your veggies by hardness (find out how to do that in the download available below)
  • Create an amazing soup (from what you have) with my basic soup recipe (in the download below)

That’s it! Using in-season, fresh produce from your garden or the farmer’s market is simple and easy when you learn to make a soup from anything. Find out how to do it (and how easy it is) in the download below.
