Now that a new year has begun I’m getting really excited about what projects I want to tackle and what new skills I want to learn.
Here in New Hampshire, January and February can be pretty brutal (though this year hasn’t been bad at all…yet!).
The sun is low and it’s cold and windy, and sometimes just miserable and depressing, so it’s important to find things to keep me entertained and sane through the cold months.
Planning, goal setting, and getting prepared for warm weather projects is one way I like to do that.
Luckily I was able to get an early copy of the Back to Basics bundle and I’m so stoked to share it with you! What’s on your projects/goals list for the year? Maybe it will help you reach one of your 2016 goals too!
What is the Back to Basics Living Bundle?
A bunch of excellent bloggers in the cooking from scratch, homesteading, preparedness, sustainable DIY, natural remedies, homeschool, frugal living, and simple living communities put together their ebooks, courses, and printables and are offering them at a 90% discount.
Starting on January 18th the sale continues for just a week, which is why it can be offered at such a steep discount.
My favorites!
What makes this bundle so great is that there’s something for everyone! The books in this bundle are geared toward the self sufficient homesteader but what that means is up to you.
There’s something for the beginner as well as the experienced, and for those who live in the city and those who reside in the country.
Whether you’re working your own land or focusing on developing skills while you save for your homestead, this is a great resource to help you reach your goals.
Living a Rich Life as a Stay-at-Home Mom by Anita Fowler and Karen Jensen (Live Like You’re Rich)
This book has some great advice for living within (or below) your means, and this book is not just for stay-at-home moms!
What is awesome about this book is that it focuses on a whole money attitude/outlook change that can free you from revolving around the wheel of consumer debt and never having enough.
It includes ideas for teaching kids about money, saving on health insurance, groceries, mortgages and more.
Beginner’s Guide to Zero Waste Cooking by April D. Lewis (An Apple a Day Wisdom)
This book is such an excellent resource for those of us on a tight budget. Our grocery bill is one of the largest parts of our budget and finding ways to shave it down helps a lot.
April has some new tips for using up produce that is usually tossed. She even gives instructions for using things two or three times before composting it, now that’s zero waste!
From Dirt To Dollars: A Guide to Selling at Farmers’ Markets by Annie Coombe (Country Living in a Cariboo Valley)
This eBook has seriously inspired me to try selling at a farmer’s market once we get our homestead. Annie gives lots of tips on how to get started with a garden: protecting it from pests and animals, what to grow, how to grow it.
She them talks about harvesting for the market, selling at the farmer’s market, etc. Even if you aren’t planning on selling at a farmer’s market, this book is filled with awesome gardening tips!
Urban Farming For Kids by Danelle Wolford (Weed ’em & Reap)
This video e-course is a great way to introduce kids to caring for animals and gardening. Hosted by Danelle’s kids, the videos are informative and adorable.
If your children have expressed an interest in farming (or you’d like them to) then this e-course is a perfect introduction.
