Want to create a permaculture backyard? You’re in luck!

I have been studying permaculture for years now and have found that it has transformed my gardening. But what I love most about it is that permaculture is scalable, meaning you can use the same principles to design a 10-acre farm as you can a 1/10 of an acre lot.

How to Design an Amazing Permaculture Backyard

Learn Some Basics – While it can take a long time (many years) to become a permaculture expert, it doesn’t take long to gain enough knowledge to use in your own yard.

Be Ready to Learn More – Once you know the basics, it’s easy to expand on that knowledge as you go. This helps you to improve your space slowly.

Find Easy to Understand Resources – There is a lot of confusing information out there that makes learning permaculture more complicated than it needs to be. But it can be simple and fun to learn!

Why Permaculture?

There are many benefits to using permaculture in your backyard. Here are some of my favorites:

no chemicals! – permaculture creates an environment where pests and weeds never get out of control so there is no need for chemicals to control them.

Conserves water – whether you’re in a wet or dry climate, it’s a good idea to conserve the water you have instead of relying on getting more in the form of rain (or spending time and money watering from the hose!). Permaculture builds in water conservation for a healthy ecosystem.

Requires less maintenance – Once your permaculture garden is established, it requires very little input (no watering, weeding, tilling, and even planting in the case of a perennial garden)

Once you get started, it’s easy to find more and more reasons why permaculture garden backyards are amazing!!
